Richmond • Airport • Vancouver Rapid Transit Project

Web development and Adaptations

Background
The RAV Project is a rail-based rapid transit line called the RAV line that will link central Richmond, the Vancouver International Airport, and Vancouver. The RAV line is a significant element in the Greater Vancouver's regional transportation network, providing much-needed access between dense and growing residential areas and key employment, commercial, hospital and institutional centres. In turn, this project impacts almost every communities of Vancouver. Thus RAV picked eSeeNet to help them in reaching out to the public through effective communication channels.
Our Work

Website

eSeeNet built a bilingual (English and Chinese), interactive and user-friendly website for the RAV Project. The main purpose of the site is to constantly inform the public about rapid transit options and progress, and to gather and elicit opinion along various stages of the project via online surveys. In sum, we were involved in design, programming, as well as translation for the website.

Adaptation

The Vancouver area has the highest concentration of Chinese population in Canada. eSeeNet also helped the RAV Project to adapt the Preliminary Design Discussion Guide into Chinese. We followed RAV Project‘s guideline in creating the Chinese version of the booklet.

The Result
Since late 2000, eSeeNet has been working with the RAV project. Our work has definitely helped in bridging between the community and the RAV Project. We are proud to be a part of such significant project, which is going to be benefiting the Vancouver area.
